1970 mercedes 220d

This amazing classic gets so much attention everywhere I take it. It is so unique and is such a cool car. These early production Mercedes are getting more rare and are very sought after. It has the 4 speed, which is very fun to drive and also highly sought after in these cars.

The tires are in decent condition and look great against the original color matching Mercedes hub caps. The hub caps are like new. Includes original Mercedes steering wheel. The interior is in good condition considering the year. No big rips or tears in the leather. The dash board has no cracking on it which is a known issue for cars of this age. An updated radio was installed, heating/AC run well, door locks and windows all function smoothly. All the lights work with the exception of the left brake light.

The car was recently serviced a Mercedes Certified Mechanic (MBI based out of Portland OR) and gone through. MBI had adjusted the values, topped off fluids, changed the oil and fuel filter. They had also replaced several gaskets/seals. All of this resulted in the cylinder compression increasing from 230.255.280.280 to 310.405.360.385. That’s huge for a vehicle of this age. Cylinder four is misfiring, the mechanic had suggesting that by rebuilding the injector pump that it would fix this. Mechanic had stated the blue smoke is as result of bad oil rings.

This car is great for road trips, it has a large trunk and is very spacious compared to cars today. Being a Mercedes, it drives like a dream. The suspension is comfortable and seats will absorb any bumps. I would have no problem jumping in it and driving cross country. It drives like new and will start every time.

The car is mostly rust free and the gaps on the hood, doors, and trunk are near perfect. To the best of my knowledge, it is accident free. Even at highway speeds, there is no shaking or rattling sounds. Its very smooth.

These mercedes are known to go 500,000/600,000 miles without an issue. It has 243,xxx miles. The title is clean and in my name. Valid OR tags through 4/2020.
