For sale by 17 year eBay member. Low mileage (68,510) 1991 Mercedes Benz 300SL roadster in black. These were factory coded as the R129 which were known as one of the most reliable MB's during those years of their production. KBB reviews give it 4.7 stars out of 5. This car was $70k MSRP in 1991 and now being offered at a very fair price with no reserve. Local SoCal car since it was new. Being a 40 year enthusiast and collector I would rank this car as a good quality driver that hasn't reached its' mid-life yet. Has been in the family since 2012.No seasonal car here...drive it as a hardtop or top off. Both tops included. Clean CarFax history report and NO accidents or stories.
A few items can use attention but nothing that affects city or highway driving, braking, acceleration, handling or safety.
Six cylinder in-line 3.0 liter engine fuel injected, 228 HP, with automatic transmission that shifts smooth through its' gears.Having mechanical fuel injection, at times requires pumping the gas before starting which is the primary item referred to above. The hardtop removes and goes on as it should. The convertible top does not come up automatically but fully tucks down as shown.Aside from that, the car drives, idles, accelerates, steers, handles, and brakes well.
Records of maintenance and ownership since the year 1994. Except for the aftermarket stereo and the new soft top this car is stock. Upgraded stereo with amp but original MB radio (AM/FM/WB/Cassette) is also included in the sale. Big three ring binder we assembled with pages of complete MB 300SL parts diagrams, numbers and prices.
Owners: Original 1991-2004; 2nd owner 2004-2009; 3rd owner 2009-2012; 4th owner 2012 to 2018. We are the 5th and purchased from my uncle from Thousand Oaks, CA whose health has failed and loved the car for the 6 years he owned it.
Carfax records since 1994, and many of our own. New 8/16/18 SMOG certification. California registration good until March 2019.

Oil (Mobil 1) and filter change, new Hankook tires all around with complete suspension alignment, fuel injection clean, brake flush, all fluids checked.

Upgraded stereo with 6-disc changer/amp. Optional chrome factory wheels in great condition, power windows, heated seats, good A/C, power seats and headrests, cruise control, headlight wipers, new soft top, alarm. The original clock works. Also included is a new wind diffuser for comfortable top-down driving.
Nice dash with no cracks or in the console, or door cards. No issues with any of the glass, and carpeting in great condition. Chaffing on driver side seat bolster. Two small seams that could use stitching. Minimal dings or small dents. Impressive size trunk for a roadster. 7 gauges in dash includes instant MPG and oil pressure. Great oil pressure and power. Respray (by previous owner) on stock driver side rear quarter panel due to imperfections in the past, not from any accident.
