Description

This car was our main car from 1985 till 2011.

It got to a point that we had a block heater installed (in 2000) and it had to warmed up

before we could drive it.

We are artists and don’t drive much but finally got a different car, this car has been sitting for almost two years now. The car is 52 years old we have kept in the garage since 2003 (lived outside till 2003) drove it on a regular basis till 2011. We plugged in the block heater and charged the battery and she started right up!! These old cars are just incredible!!

Over time we had our cars serviced at Don Rasmussen’s in Portland Oregon oil changes and so on but they wouldn’t work on them in the 90’s because none of their techs knew anything about the old cars.

I have all of the service records for it. Although it didn’t really require much other that oil changes and tires the car just is very basic. Also, I have the original service manual not the little book but the big three- ring binder that has ALL the information about everything about this car.

I have looked on eBay and parts are plentiful for it, a new rebuilt motor is about 3,500.00 from a company in Las Vegas. We have considered putting in a motor because it is a tough car and relatively simple, no “brain” just your basic on and off car. We just don’t seem to have the time so another year is ticking off.

Over the past 40 years we have owned four different “finners” so our garage attic contains a lot of misc. stuff for the 60’s Mercedes.

·4 extra beauty rings and hub caps

·Hood - excellent condition

·Grill

·2 doors

·2 bumpers

·Lots and lots of misc. parts

·Trunk lid - excellent condition

·Radiator

·Rear window

·2 wheels w/tires

·Several brake boosters

We had one that we had an accident in, all the good stuff was taken off and put in the garage attic.

That’s what the above list is from, plus a good car part is a good car part.

We also have a 1965 diesel 3-speed transmission and motor in the tool shed. Truthfully I can’t recall how that motor got there but I sure would appreciate it if all this car stuff could go together.
