1992 Mercedes-Benz 500SEL Low-Mileage Long Wheelbase Sedan
Description
Up for sale in this no reserve auction is a one owner, garage kept 1992 Mercedes-Benz 500SEL in excellent used condition. I acquired this Mercedes through an estate about a month ago and have only driven it 12 miles. The car currently has 85,636 miles. The motor ran as it should and the transmission shifted smoothly. This 500 SEL's silver exterior is in overall great shape with a scratch on the passenger side front bumper and a small ding on the passenger door as shown in the pictures. There is no sign of any rust. The black leather interior is in almost new condition. There in no rips or tears in the seats. There is a phone in the center console (controls are located in the upper center of the dash). I did not attempt to use the phone. The original first aid kit is in a compartment located in the in the center above the rear seats. I checked all the electronic components (windows, door locks, power windows, power seats (including all 4 heated seats), sun roof, cruise control, heat and AC and everything is operating as it should. It comes with the owner's manual and additional original documentation.
A review of the CARFAX revealed that this Mercedes has been owned by one person and has been in New Jersey all it's life. It also revealed that it has been serviced by Mercedes Benz Dealerships on a regular basis with the following:
1. Front and rear brakes pads on October 24, 2002 with 73,487 miles 2. Coolant flushed, tires rotated and balanced, power steering pump replaced, brake fluid flushed on November 16, 2006 with 80,589 miles
3. Battery replaced on July 30, 2014 with 85,137 miles
The negative aspects:
1. When I acquired the car the instrument cluster was not operating. I removed the cluster and sent it out (through EBAY) and had it repaired. I reinstalled the cluster and all the gauges are operating correctly. I drove the Mercedes about 6 miles and no warning lights came on. However, through shipping the cluster did get a small crack in the lower right corner.
2. When you turn the radio on some of the speakers have a cracking sound. After a while the radio plays correctly (loose wire connection?)
This Mercedes is over 25 years old and looks almost new, however there is no warranties or guarantees concerning it's condition. A $500.00 deposit is due within 24 hours of auction ending. The remaining balance is due within 5 days of auction end by cash or certified check. Transportation is the sole responsibility of the buyer. The car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end this auction early.
