Description

Selling this beautiful Polar White over Dove Grey Leather 1991 560SEL, it is in WELL above average condition, and is mostly original, and unmolested. I have done lots and lots of maintenance/repairs on the car over the last 4 or so years that I have owned it. WAY too many things to list. The engine is in excellent shape, and doesn't burn any oil or coolant. Never overheats, always runs right at the 80C mark. I am the second owner, it has 168,000 miles. It has spent the vast majority of it's life garaged. Even the trim around the windows is NOT oxidized! Seats are soft, supportive and work perfectly, as do all the windows and sunroof. A/C works well, but is slightly low on charge (verified). Engine bay is very clean and well kept, see pictures.
THE BAD:
NEEDS A NEW CRANK POSITION SENSOR! THATS ALL! ENGINE IS GUARANTEED 100% GOOD!
Up until recently, the car had been running perfectly, as always. One morning I moved the car into my driveway for street sweeping, and then when I came to move it back onto the street, it wouldn't start. Cranks just fine, but won't start, NEEDS a new crank sensor. Unfortunately, the car is a burden since I no longer have anywhere to safely store it. (On the street it has to be moved daily!)
I am also a trained, certified Mercedes-Benz technician, this car is one from my personal collection. I do not buy (or sell) junk! Car is in VERY good overall condition, aside from a couple areas needing attention. One is the front passenger's side fender, it was dented in a parking lot, just needs a new fender - simple. Other thing is the driver's seat leather has started tearing at the perforated part. The car is sold as-is, although I can also repair these items for you if you would like - at an additional cost. It has been sitting for about two months now, and the tags are just about to expire. It passed SMOG no problem last time, and I do not see why it would have any problem this time, once it's running of course.
PARTS REPLACED:
I had performed a major service just prior to this no-start event, including: Engine Oil & Filter, Coolant Flush (OEM), new Expansion Tank, ALL new vacuum hoses (Genuine MB), vacuum hardlines, new air filter, new breather hoses, new idle control valve hoses, new rear suspension Nitrogen Spheres, rebuilt front suspension (Ball joints, bushings, tie rods), new Voltage Regulator, new relays (various), Copper Fuse conversion, New suspension fluid reservoir Hose, new Genuine Headlight Lens, new Fuel Pump Relay, new vacuum switching valves, new thermostat, new fuel filter, new fuel pumps, new Ignition coil, new EZL Module, new spark Plugs, new Plug Wires, new Oxygen Sensor, new valve cover gaskets, Rebuilt Fuel Distributor, new Fuel Pressure Regulator, New EHA valve, new Air flow meter Potentiometer, and MUCH more. Absolutely EVERYthing on this car works, even the electric Hirschmann antenna. The only issue it has is that it will not start. Every common Mercedes W126 issue has already been addressed and repaired properly on this car!
I have tried to be as thorough as possible about the car's condition as to not waste my time or anyone else's. Feel free to make me an offer. The value of these cars is increasing, and this one is already priced VERY low due to it's current needs. I have several other MB cars, and I simply don't have the time or space for this one. My loss, sadly is your gain. It ran **flawlessly** before the crank sensor failed.
If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask. CLEAN title in hand, no stories. Fix this one's minor problems, and you will have a beautiful, timeless, classic Mercedes-Benz that will impress, and be reliable as well as enjoyable for years to come!! Car will need to be towed!
