NOT your typical, tired 450SL. This is a pampered, 100% original, near mint survivor that wins at local car shows. Judges find it hard to believe it's 43 years old and not restored! It does have a few very tiny flaws but they need to be pointed out to be seen. 53k miles, even riding on its original tires!
I've owned this car for more than 35 years, so I KNOW it's the real deal.
Minor flaws are (and I’m exaggerating)
-2 tiny cracks in paint, about 1/8”
-clear coat has slight blemishes, only noticeable in
certain sunlight but disappears when waxed
-Air needs recharging
-dash lights not working ( probably a fuse but
haven’t had time to check at the time of this
posting)
-top is original and deteriorated, could be replaced
but I wanted it original and since I’d NEVER drive
in bad weather it really didn’t matter.
Similar cars are selling at RM Southbys and/or Gooding auctions for mid to high $30's.
Hagerty put's it's value between $28,600-36,200 (and it's climbing)https://www.hagerty.com/apps/valuationtools/1975-Mercedes~Benz-450SL?id=19765&vin=107044%2012%20024450.
I'm at only $25,900 (My reserve is MUCH lower) but I'm a collector so will consider full or partial trades (up or dn) for the following (NO junk, NO rot, MUST be nice):
-58 Olds 98
-58 Caddy Fleetwood or Cpe
-66 Caddy Fleetwood
-56-58 Mercury
-56-57 or 61-62 Lincoln
-C6 Corvette Convert/automatic, under 50k miles
IMPORTANT NOTES:
-No scams on how you'll over pay because you can't come to look at it.
-DO NOT send me a message trying to educate me on it's value with your armchair expertise.....I've collected Mercedes carsfor some 50 years, I'm NOT a dealer, I AM a collector and have owned 50+ Mercedes ranging from 1925-2000 in the past and I know what thisbeauty is worth.
