Stunning 1969 Mercedes 280SL with Rebuilt Engine
Description
Drive a design classic.
This 1969 280 SL is a beautiful example of this classic Mercedes "Pagoda" roadster designed by Paul Bracq. I have owned the car for five years and have spent more than $40,000 on a complete, documented mechanical restoration, including a 2017 engine rebuild by renowned classic Mercedes experts Metric Motors (San Francisco) and Rheinland Motors (New York City). The car drives like new and the body and chassis are in mint condition with zero rust. Desirable oxblood interior. Black convertible top and red hard top are in mint condition.
The electrical system has been upgraded to modern standards and all mechanical systems restored by classic Mercedes specialists (with receipts maintained for all improvements). The interior is in good condition but could use a spruce-up to match the body and engine. There is a new RetroSound stereo installed. This garage-kept car has less than 1,000 miles on the new engine rebuild. I am selling the car to make room for another vintage vehicle.
This car is an excellent example of a "driver." Mechanically, it's a 10/10. The body is a 9/10 with no rust and the paint is in excellent condition. The interior is a 6/10 with some wear on the dash and carpeting. There is no A/C. Feel free to contact me with other questions.
For sale by owner. Available for viewing in Queens, NY. Will ship worldwide at buyer's expense.
