Classic 1987 Mercedes 560SL - Low Miles - Original Paint - 2 Top Roadster
Description
1987 Mercedes 560SL Roadster
Welcome, for sale here is my 1987 Mercedes 560SL Roadster. The car is featured in Black over Grey interior. This vehicle has 95,500 original miles and retains its original factory paint. The car runs and drives nicely. The engine is a 5.6 litre Mercedes-Benz alloy V8 producing 227 bhp. Coupled to an automatic 4 speed gearbox. This car is a true highway cruiser, effortlessly driving at autobahn speeds. This German roadster was built to the highest standards and 32 years later it shows the quality. The 560SL cost over $65,000 in 1987, well over $100,000 in today's money. Needless to say, they were very well engineered. Bought new and spent most of its life in Beverly Hills California until being shipped here.
The body is in great condition, no visible rust issues. The paint is the factory original, never repainted. While it shines up nicely and looks very good, this is the original paint. Some imperfections, nicks, scratches, light bubbling and fading is expected in some areas. Still very good for its age. (see photographs).
Mechanically the car is very sound, the engine starts right up and the gears pass smoothly. The car hasn't been driven very much in the last year, which is one of the reasons I'm selling the car. Brakes and suspension are all in very good working order.
The interior is in good condition, no cracks or tears on the seats or door panels. There are cracks on the dash pad, currently covered with a "dashmat." You can buy a solid dash cover on eBay for about $100 if you want to install it. Power windows are working as well as all the electrics. The only thing I can't seem to get to work is the Radio and antenna. Radio is aftermarket.
The soft top is in very good condition and of high quality OEM Mercedes brand, looks barely used.
The car comes with loads of maintenance receipts and paperwork dating all the way back from new, even the original owner's manuals etc... as well as the original tool kit. I did recently install a brand new battery.
Overall this is a great driver quality automobile, that you can be proud to own and show. Has some patina as expected, it's not perfect but a great car nonetheless.
Thank you for your interest and hope you can take her home!
Shipping is at the charge and responsibility of the buyer, but I can assist if needed. Shipping via Pasha to the West Coast is currently running about $870.00. You can arrange further shipping from there or go through a booking agent like CFRinkens and get it anywhere in the world, even to Europe for about $3000.
