1971 Mercedes 300SEL 6.3 Euro

This european 6.3 was originally a more attractive 396G medium blue metallic, but it was painted standard 180G Silver at some point in its life. The interior was blue leather. This came from a local mechanic that had used it as a donor car for another 6.3 he had in his shop. He essentially used parts off of this car to make one very nice 6.3.
Please note this is titled and registered as a 1971 but being 6.3 #3041 its mid production so it is actually a early 1970 example.
Initially I thought I was going to part this car out, but after realizing how solid the underside is and that its a good running car (once the plug wires and brake components are re-installed) I figured it best not to cut the car up. The main area of rust is the front of the drivers rocker panel. The part that meets the fender shows lots of bubbling. The rest of the underside appears solid. Please feel free to email me for specific pictures or for the photo album I have created of the car.
There are various items that are missing from the car. This includes the grill, rear bumper, various trim pieces, seat recliner parts and trim, the rear seat cover, rear parcel shelf components, knobs, switches etc. Please look at the pictures I can provide to get a better idea .
The parts that have been removed from the car so that it currently doesnt run and drive are the brake booster/master cylinder and the spark plug wires. Those were used on the other car. I have provided a new set of plug wires and a used booster/master cylinder from another parts car in the trunk to the new owner. It also appears that one of the doors was swapped over from the other car. I believe it is the rear passenger door. The seats are also all unbolted and loose.
This is definitely a project, but knowing that it has the potential to be a good running european 6.3 that is mostly solid, warrants the restoration project being fulfilled.
The worst areas of surface rust are spots on the trunk area, roof and hood. There is also some surface rust in the trunk wells as usual.
When I have moved this car around to store it, I have been able to pump up the suspension with my air compressor and it holds air in the front for about half a day and it holds air pressure in the rear for about 24 hours.
I can block the car for transport upon request.
