1971 Mercedes-Benz 250C
History:
I got this car from a family friend who bought it from the original owner back in 1995. This car, for a long time, had a healthy service record and was garage kept. About 5 years ago, the owner desired to sell the vehicle, and parked it at a local auto shop to be tuned up. It then sat out in the elements for a few years, where it came into my possession. The fuel system was completely upgraded with new hoses, pump, filter and Weber carburetors. The original Zenith carburetors also come with the car.I also had the radiator replaced as well as new hoses.
Walkaround:
You will notice that the paint is faded and chipped on the hood, and has a patina along the sides of the car. The rear windshield seal has wear and will need to be replaced. The chrome and trim around the car is in excellent condition. Underneath the car there is a small oil leak from the oil pan, and some surface rust by the rear right tire. There is some cosmetic work to be done, but this could be a wonderful patina car for someone who has that interest.
Interior:
The interior is in very good condition, not tears or cracks in the leather seats. The door locks and window louvres operate great. The dash has a small crack by the front speaker, but the tolex is in very good shape. The radio and interior lighting work as well. The heat works, but the A/C does not. The glove box comes with the original manual and the service history since I purchased the vehicle. In the trunk there is a full sized spare tire as well as the original jack.
Engine:
I am including a video of the car running, revving and idling. With the new carburetors and fuel system, the engine runs very strong and the car drives and shifts gears well. This car is a very smooth, easy-going cruiser but has some torque behind that inline 6 engine.
