Import from Germany via the Netherlands, 1973 Mercedes Benz 406d camper. High roof. Probably the only of it's kind in North America. It ran to where parked a year ago but has (badly) blown head gasket & serious rust issues & roof leaks etc.
Camper interior, not a bad start to a project overall but there are some serious areas of water damage, wood rot, rust & etc.
Mechanically besides the blown head gasket, everything including the transmission, brakes, suspension, axles, radiator, etc was solid. Sale includes some service etc history, and a large sack of hard to find Repair & Parts / Service Manuals
406d = 400 series merc commercial bus truck chassis, 60hp engine (yes really only 64-ish hp, but gearing makes it not too bad), 55-60mph top cruising speed (100km/hr), 18-20mpg, includes straight veggie oil conversion installed never used (no tank or filter). Manual trans good shape, dual rear wheels, fairly low original kms at around ~139,000kilometers. Its been on at least 2 long trips across the continent & I would love to find a dedicated new owner who might take it on more adventures.
Could also make a great Food Truck or Tiny Hom, or something along those lines..

Bathroom/closet behind driver is a blank canvas (empty), behind that room for bench/seating or desk etc. King coal antique pot belly wood stove (*optional extra cost). 2 Large skylight/s need work. 139,000km= 86,000 miles. Regarding the suspected blown headgasket I did not notice any mixing of oil & coolant. I believe the original cause was weep hole in the waterpump, overheated (but shut off as soon as temps got into the red) and after that it quickly dumps the coolant out. Leaking coolant passenger side rear of engine area. I haven't tried to start/run it in 2+ months, but ran when parked.. wouldn't be driveable unless you want to chance it locally, and stop every 5 minutes or less to fill with water.
I can provide the VIN to anyone who needs it, ebay wouldn't accept when I tried to type it in. to be clear the front NL euro plate is just for looks, CLEAN WA TITLE on hand. Current collector plates, so not expired, and road legal. Tow should be possible with aaa rv plus upto 100 miles as an option.
Length 20ft6in roughly with rear cargo box, & 14ft roughly front wheel to rear wheel
