1988 Mercedes Benz 560SL - Excellent Condition

1988 Mercedes-Benz 560SL is finished in Garnet Red Metallic over a Palomino leather interior and was first sold from Stead Motors, Walnut Creek California. Power comes from a 5.5-liter V8, which drives the rear wheels through a 4-speed automatic transmission. The selling dealer acquired the car approximately a year prior my purchase and i am the 2nd owner. The Odometer Reads 31,500 miles. Maintenance completed within the past year which included the 30,000 mile Service. included all service documented in service booklet from original owner. Vehicle in August 2018 and performed 30K service which included Changing out all fluids, oil, transmission, power steering flush, brake system. All filters changed. Interior is in excellent condition with no smells, tears rips or deep gouges to leather. Carpets in excellent condition. Convertible top is original and had not been used, Clear plastic windows show no fading. Hardtop is also in perfect condition inside lining and outside paint and moldings. Bottom molding weather seal was replaced just to make sure that it was perfect seal.
Flasher signal relay replaced, Air Conditioning was recharged and thermostat replaced. Interior dash temp sensor coupling was replaced. Air conditioning blows freezing cold and heater is excellent and variable temperatures are in working order. Vehicle has garage kept.
All original factory manuals are present and intact, tool kit and first aid kit as well. Full size spare has never been taken out or used.
Vehicle has lived in Northern CA and has clean undercarriage. Smooth Shift thru all Gears, no smoke on start up, start up is immediate and Vehicle glides and floats over the road as if new.
Only a few (very minor) paint blemishes exists one on rear deck which appears to be from gas cap being placed upon trunk during fuel stops, very minor rock chips on front hood and small area on rear panel pinstripe (see photo). Pinstripes are painted vs tape. The body is finished in Garnet Red Metallic (512) and features a color-matched removable hardtop as well as US-market lighting and bumpers. The included Carfax report indicates no history of accidents or other damage. Factory 15″ alloy wheels wear a chrome finish with 24K Gold Mercedes Emblems and were all replaced in 2018 including front end alignment. Service Records also show the front brake pads were replaced in 2018. The interior cabin is trimmed in Palomino leather (274) and features a color-keyed console, lower dash, and carpets, along with burl wood accents. Walnut burl Dash trim is in great condition and this vehicle has walnut Burl in the upper door Panels. Amenities include power windows, automatic climate control, and cruise control. A Becker Grand Prix cassette player is retained in the dash. The 5.5-liter M117 V8 produced 227 horsepower and 279 lb-ft of torque when new, which is sent to the rear wheels through a 4-speed automatic transmission.
