European Motor Studio is excited to offer this 1989 Mercedes-Benz 560SL Roadster finished in iconic Signal Red over Parchment leather interior. After leaving the Stuttgart factory in October of 1988, this R107 roadster was invoiced to Mercedes-Benz North America and shipped to Ray Catena Motor Car Corp. in Edison New Jersey where it sold new to its first owner on November, 17 1988. Early service history shows Ray Catena Motors serviced the car up until it was traded into a... Mercedes-Benz dealership in Staten Island New York where it sold to the second owner as a Starmark Certified Pre-Owned Mercedes on December 13, 1993. The car then moved to New Mexico with the third owner in the Summer of 2009 where it would remain. The Signal Red paint is all original and in excellent condition. It has just undergone a nice paint correction and shows very well. There are a couple small chips on the driver door edge, one chip and scratch on the rear deck behind the hardtop and a couple small chips on the passenger door edge. All of the trim and rubber show very well with no real wear marks or damage and the original windshield is free from any damage or pitting. The Parchment leather interior is in beautiful condition and still retains a nice soft feel. The carpets are in great condition free from any stains or damage, the console wood is in excellent condition free from any damage and the original dash is free from any shrinkage or any cracks. All of the instrumentation still has a nice orange color to them as appose to the typical faded out yellow color. All of the electronics are operating as designed including the windows, locks, mirror, power antenna, original Becker radio and the cruise control. The AC is ice cold and working on both fan speeds. All of the interior and exterior lights are also operating as designed. The 5.6 liter V8 engine has just been serviced and runs very well with excellent strong power. The transmission shifts very smooth through all of the gears and the brakes have an excellent solid feel free from any fade or grinding. The front driver and passenger ball joints have just been replaced and the steering is nice and tight. This is an excellent example of the iconic Mercedes-Benz R107 SL from the final year of production. There is absolutely no rust found anywhere on the car and the body is very straight, free from any prior damage repair. Accompanying the sale of this SL are the original owners handbooks, service books, service records and history dating back to the prior ownership out of New Mexico. A clean Carfax is also present with the car documenting the servicing and showing a clean and clear report.
