Description

Mercedes

*1987 Mercedes Benz 420 SEL.

*This car will need to be towed as it currently will not start. It may need some work on the fuel injectors or the fuel pump may need to be replaced.I'm not a mechanic, so this is just my take on what it feels like it may need. It will lose power and skip occasionally once it loses power; sometimes producing smoke from the tailpipe.

*Interior: The interior is in excellent condition. No tears and for it's age is in excellent shape as this vehicle was garaged for most of its life.As you can see from the photos, it is very clean. Carpet is very clean. Dash is in excellent shape with no cracks.

*Exterior: The exterior is in good condition with some minor rust and some discoloring and fading of the bumper.Paint is original and no chips in the paint. This car I believed originated in Massachusetts. I purchased and had it shipped to North Carolina.

*Tires: New tires on 9/2/14 and have approximately 15,000 - 18,000 miles on them. Tires are in excellent condition.

*Power windows and power locks. Vacuum locks. All work. However, the sunroof does not function properly, but is completely shut and there are no leaks. This is repairable, but I chose not to repair it.

*Radio: I believe this is the stock radio and the security code will need to be reset.

*Battery: battery is good. However, there is something draining the battery. However, if you start the vehicle every couple of days, the battery will stay charged. Since it will stay charged by starting or driving every couple of days, I chose not to have this issue researched.

*Odometer: Odometer stopped working in the summer of 2016. Odometer reads 144,000. I only drive this around town and haven't taken it on any trips, so mileage should be less than 155,000.

*Heat and Air Conditioning: Air does not blow cold, most likely needs coolant. Heat works but does take a while to blow warm air out.

*Work performed: work performed with all receipts.

*6/25/14 - replaced front window switch and replaced all fuses.

*7/22/16 - replaced Oxygen Sensor, reset Fuel Injection and Lambda Control Frequency, replaced Rear Brake Pads and Rotors, replaced Brake Pad Retainers. Replaced Shift Rod Bushings and Retainer Clips.

*6/12/2017 - Replaced right rear control arm.

**Please make sure you read the first paragraph as this vehicle will need some work to run at top notch again. It is a very comfortable ride with lots of leg room as you can see from the photos.
