1964 Mercedes-Benz 230SL. One owner since 1980. Type 113.042. Production number 10-002359E. Very solid driver. Overall mechanicals in very goodcondition. Excellent body, effectively rust free for the car's lifetime and very little corrosion overall.
Original engine, transmission, and final drive. Engine rebuilt at 136,000 miles by Jess Miller in West Chester, PA. Complete documentation is available. Original four-speed manual gearbox. Fuel injection pump was replaced.
Front and rear suspension system received thorough servicing in 2006 and 2010 respectively by Bob Macklevoy in Haverhill, MA. Complete documentation available.
717 Papyrus White, repainted once in that original color. Originally all leather upholstered interior. Seats and dashboard have been reupholstered in original type leather. All other panels in original leather. German square weave carpets replaced with loop pile nylon. Interior wood trim pieces - dashboard trim, speaker grille, and center console - have been replaced with original type parts. Convertible top and rear window have been replaced once in original type material.
Very good condition chromework.
Original dealer installed, factory option KuhlMeister air conditioning system was removed by the previous owner; all parts available.
Original US/Federal headlamps have been replaced with European type headlamp units. Original units are available.
Converted to power steering using Mercedes-Benz parts, all original parts are available.
New brake calipers installed in 2000.
Apertureseals replaced.
Stainless steel OE type exhaust system.
