1985 Mercedes-Benz 500SLNOTE THIS VEHICLE IS NOT A 1980. vehicle is titled as a 1985 as it came to america in 1985. Vehicle was originally delivered 3/30/1982. For some reason eBay would not accept the VIN WDB10704612001648 so I had to mark the vehicle as a pre 1981. This could be because the vehicle is a grey market car not originally delivered to America.This model is one of the most sought after R107 models since it was not originally imported to America there are few here and do not come up for sale often. One of only 11,812 built over the models 9 year production run. Fitted with largest horsepower engine of any r107 the 237 hp 296 lb ft torque M117 5 liter V8 and automatic transmission. Just passed California smog. Beautiful vehicle in great rust free condition. This rare roadster is still wearing its shiny and smooth factory original 473-Champagne Metallic paintwork, no rust or dents. Only a few minor stone chips in the 34 year old 648. paint. Fitted the 15" chrome rims and all new continental tires. Exterior of this model is iconic with the original European spec small bumpers, factory trunk lip spoiler and the large Bosch adjustable beam euro headlights which still function. Stylish contrasting Robbins brown German canvas soft top has been replaced and is in great condition with clear windows, hardtop is also in great condition and has all new seals. Cream Interior is sumptuous and newly fitted with complete carpet kit, genuine Mercedes-Benz floor mats and new leather seating surfaces, headrest and armrest covers. Dash is crack free, all gauges and instrumentation work as they should. Power windows work. Ventilation system is functional including air conditioning. Vehicle retains its original functioning European model Becker Mexico with power antenna. Wood dash and console trim is in great original condition with optional wood shift knob. Trunk of vehicle retains its original carpet in good condition for its age. I had thought about replacing it but the replacements currently do not look quite like the original in design. Complete original tool roll, warning triangle and first aid kit are all present in the trunk side compartment. Under the hood looks just as great as the rest of the vehicle. With 114,000 miles all components have remained in great maintained condition. Cooling system hoses are new with correct MB hoses and hose clamps, cooling system has been flushed and refilled with Mercedes-Benz coolant. Power steering system has been serviced, new filter and power steering fluid. Steering coupler and steering damper have recently been replaced. Engine oil has been changed, oil filter, Engine air filter & spark plugs have all been replaced. Brake system has been inspected and all rubber brake hoses replaced and brake fluid flushed and refilled. Both front and rear drive shaft flex discs replaced. Both front and rear sub frame mounts replaced as well as the differential mount. Vehicle has been fitted with new catalytic converters. All new rear fuel feed lines, fuel filter and fuel accumulator. Much other mechanical servicing and repair has been carried out by previous owner and the included stack of service paperwork stretching back to the 80's is a record of it.
