As the brainchild of legendary European car importer Max Hoffman, the first Mercedes-Benz 190 SL Roadster was designed to serve as a more lifestyle-oriented complement to the outlandish 300SL Gullwing Coupe. Hoffman built on the racing-oriented Gullwing's curvaceous shape, both the 190SL and the 300SL were virtually identical cosmetically.

That the 190SL was both stunning to behold and a good deal more practical for real world use helped seal the deal for well-healed buyers, particularly in trendy Southern California.

This Red/Tan Mercedes is an amazing example of one of the most "original" 190 SL's on the planet! The original owner had the car for over 50 years keeping it in a temperature-controlled environment for it's entire life, resulting in a rust-free car. The car runs and drives perfectly and displays just over 53,000 original miles. Upon a recent inspection, the only things determined not to be original are the tires, carpet, convertible top, and the battery. The paint (a paint gauge was used to determine that over 80% of the paint is original), the brightwork, the interior, the Becker Mexico radio, and the rare glass sun visors are all in fabulous original working condition.

Tax, Title and License:
Local residents are responsible for applicable sales tax in your county as well as title and licensing fees. If you live outside of our state, you are responsible for applicable tax, title and licensing fees in your area.

Note: If the deposit is not received within forty-eight hours (2 business days) or if the sale is not complete within 7 days of the close of the auction, we reserve the right to sell to the next highest bidder or to another qualified buyer.
