as been my goal, over the past 30 years, to reproduce this fine roadster incorporating the original design and eye-catching lines that define this spectacular car, while updating the drive train with a modern and dependable Mercedes Benz fuel injected V-8 engine with automatic transmission, power rack and pinion steering and power disc brakes.
The special Roadster was the pinnacle of exclusivity in the 1930s and like a fine wine, it has aged beautifully. Just over two dozen of these special Roadsters were built in the Mercedes Benz Sindlefingen Factory Plant; but today, only about 15 have survived, leading to its collectability. The last original Roadster was sold in 2012, fetching just under 12 million dollars. In reproducing this special Roadster, the chassis and body have been duplicated to scale and all moldings and chrome pieces have been reproduced from original pieces.
