1973 280SE 4.5
Description
I'm only the 2nd owner of this highly sought after 44 year old beauty.
You can see on VIN plate the car was manufactured in 9/72. According to Wikipedia it appears this vehicle came off the assembly line in the last month of production for this model.
I bought the vehicle going on 9 years ago this coming February from West-Chester Mercedes-Benz, PA.
They sold it to the original owner new.
It currently has 99,786 original miles on it. That's a whopping 2,268 miles/year since new!
It always starts first time without touching the gas peddle (as it was one of the first vehicles with fuel injection).
The car is kept in a heated condominium parking garage with a cover on it.
The condo is being sold in 2017, so the car won't have a home (that's why I'm selling it).
The hood release cable, battery and sub-frame bushings were replaced at 99,065 miles (March '15).
The power steering gear box leaks, a new seal kit is under US$100, a rebuilt one is US$425 @ (Buy-Steering.com), & the power steering pump is noisy & leaks.
A rebuilt one is US$190 @ (partsgeek.com). Add whatever accessory parts are required and you're probably US$800 total.
I'm looking to find someone that truly has a love for these cars, appreciates their rarity and wants to keep it at or close to its best moving forward.
