1951 Mercury 4dr Sedan
Description
Up for bid at no reserve is a remarkably solid 51 Mercury 4dr Sedan. Original untouched 49-51 Mercs are becoming very hard to find, and one this solid is almost next to impossible find! The only real rust issue with this car is the drivers rear door and gas tank, and both will need to be replaced. There is a very small rust bubble on the drivers door, a small spot on the trunk lid, and a small rust line about 3/4" long about 6" below the dimmer switch. All of these rust spots are pictured. The rest of the car, i.e., floorboards, trunk floor, spare tire sump, body panels, rockers, frame, and body mounts are in very nice shape. The floorboards, trunk floor and spare tire sump all have surface rust on them, but nothing is "soft", and some of the original blue paint is still present. It appears that Mercury put three drain wholes in the spare tire sump. How happy would the body guys and gals of the world be if everyone would have done that?! There is a small tear in the passengers door like it got caught on something at sometime, but no rust is present. The trim is not very nice, most of it is dinged or bent. The grill is broke where it wraps around the passenger front fender. The front bumper bracket is also bent. There is a fixable dent on the front of the hood. The back window is broke out, but the package tray and everything underneath is solid. The flat head is still in the car and looks complete, but is stuck. The Merc-O-Matic transmission is also in the car. THE TITLE IS MISSING AND THE CAR WILL BE SOLD ON A BILL OF SALE ONLY!
I understand that it is Christmas time, and I am willing to allow several weeks for pick up, HOWEVER TOTAL PAYMENT IS DUE WITHIN 7 DAYS OF THE AUCTION ENDING. Thanks
