1983 Mercury Cougar 3.8L V6
Description
1983 Mercury Cougar 3.8L V6 2 Door Hardtop Coupe
- 4th owner, Bought the car with Odometer reading 26,000 miles. Owned for 3 years I put 20,000 miles on the car.
- Original Motor with Original Miles. Odometer reads 46,000 unsure if its 146,000 or 46,000. Has some original mechanical parts since factory. Original Brain Box, Plug wires, Glass is all original factory, Struts, Brakes, Rotors, were original Ford factory when I had the front end serviced a year ago. So the title is listed as a Class B Reconstructed Salvage title with 26,000 miles when I bought the car. Due to unsure if Odometer rollover.
- Cooling system was redone a year ago, New water pump, Thermostat, Upper and Lower hose, 3-Row AluminumRadiator, due to Arizona 100+ Degree weather temperaturesin the summer time.
- Car has been serviced regularly, Oil change every 3,000 miles. Given from age and the characteristic of the 3.8's it does leak oil.
- Paint and Body was done 3 years ago when I first bought the car with the front end damage in the pictures, replaced, Driver side Fender, Header Panel, Left Turn Signal and Left Headlamp Bucket. Side Moldingswere removed cause they were aged, and warped, still have the fender and quarter moldings if you want them back on the car but don't have the thin moldings that run along the doors. Since being painted 3 years ago and being driven, it does have a door ding on the passenger door under the handle. As well as some stone chips from being driven that I fill with touch up paint as I find them.
- Car has A/C converted to R134 with valve kit. Blows cold, but when switched to High it doesn't blow as it should out of the dash vents. Probably due to a bad switch or a door that is not opening properly. Heating also works in the car as well.
- Car has Power Windows, Mirrors, Locks and Seats, and Cruise Control. Drivers side window has had a new Door lock actuator and a new Window Regulator installed. Passenger door Window Actuator needs to be replaced. Cruise Control also doesn'twork cause is unknown, my guess is from age.
- Car's Interior is Original Upholstery except for the Headliner and Sun-visor's. Seats, Carpets, Trim, Door Panels, Dash is all still original. Seats do have some color fading from the Arizona sun more so on the drivers side seat from everyday use. No burns or tears in the seats or door panels. Door panel arm rests do have some color fading due to Arizona sun.
- It's a very well cared for Arizona survivor car. Keep in mind car IS sold as is no warranty.
