Description

1963 Mercury Comet S-22 Convertible.Only 5,700 of the optional S-22 (sports) package were released. A lot of original components on this vehicle.Inline V-6 is in great shape. Runs, drives and brakes very well. Some trim pieces need to be repaired. The electric top is fairly new and opens and closes well.Not a show car but in decent shape and needs a little attention.
I have owned it for a year, it has been well taken care of and put some additional work into it........

The engine was detailed to production specs and is period correct
Newgenerator, plugs, wires, valve cover gasket

New floormats; carpet in good shape
Tires in great shape and recentlyaddedbrand new tire (2 spare tires included)
New door hinges and exhaust system

This is a great opportunity for someonewho has the skill and time to complete the restoration of a rare vehicle on his/herown or this could be a greatdonor car for a current Comet S-22 project with an existingdecent frame. Unfortunately, I travel a lot for businessand I don'thave the time or skill to repair it to the proper specs - I just want to drive. In the spirit of being completelytransparent, the driver side door does not hang well and is not used at the moment. The rockerpanel (framerail) and J-box on the driver side need to be repaired/replaced. Passenger side needs a partial repair and patched with a reinforcementplate. I have received a quote on the repairs and it is reasonable.
