1966 Mercury Comet cyclone GT 390 automatic time capsule in garage 40 years
Description
This car is literally a time capsule it was owned by an elderly lady who in 1979 had her family remove her driving privileges. The car has 100559.6 miles actual. I purchased the car out of the garage in 1995. And I have kept the car in my garage ever since. It has never been out in the weather in over 40 years. Look closely at the pictures because this interior is absolutely original including the carpet nothing has ever been restored. I did approximately 10 years ago put a set of tires on it because I got tired of airing them up all the time but these are the original wheels and center caps also. It even has the original washer refill rotunda glass bottle in its bracket. I have 125 photos that I am more than willing to forward to perspective buyers. There is one spot of rust in the drivers quarter panel in the lower section behind the rear wheel. It does not need a full lower section or quarter panel. A 5in by 4in piece of sheet metal could repair this. The torque boxes floorboards and frame rails are immaculate. The trunk drops are excellent the whole trunk is beautiful inside. The seams on the cowl are not swelling it does not need a cowl vent replacement it does not even have rust underneath the battery tray. This is a very easy car to do. The only reason I am selling it is because I have some Financial issues due to medical problems and I am going to lose my house if I don't let it go. All of the cars in the background picture are also my cars. But they are not for sale. I am selling this car out of my collection to get caught up on my bills, that is all .it has the factory original 390 in it and it does rotate. I did have it running back around the turn of the century. However it has core plugs that are leaking and would not hold coolant. It has a clean title it is in my name. It was sold in Snohomish Washington brand new at Bickford motors which is a Ford dealer that is still active, the car spent its whole life in the greater Seattle area. I did cut the Mufflers off with a Sawzall so that I could get better pictures of the floor pans to show how nice they were. I don't think that is much of an issue because anybody that gets this car is going to do an exhaust system on it anyway. But if it is a big deal I can toss them in the trunk. This car is not a car that you're going to have to search high and low to get parts for it is 100% complete. It is an original paint. But it does have some dings and scratches. So it needs some body and paint work. The last couple years I had been twisting around dropping one of my 428 sent it and just leaving it the way it is and driving it that way but now I have to sell it. You can reach me at 425-760-6680 with any questions. I am selling the car with no Reserve. I did go on Facebook on the comet Cyclone 66 and 67 page and get some opinions of what it would go for before listing it.
