1950 Mercury Coupe (2 Door) Custom
Description
Ground up restoration, started and completed by me. Frenched headlights, and ‘51 Ford tail lights. 67 GTO Pontiac frame, modified to fit the car; Pontiac positive traction rear-end; power disc brakes; and rack and pinon steering. Leg pipes run the length of each side and have a shiny chrome finish. Tinted electric power windows, trunk and dummy spotlights, and diamond back radial tires with 2" white walls complete the exterior look. Under the hood is a 350 ZZ4 V8 motor paired with a TURBO 400 automatic transmission. The motor has some nice chrome highlights, valve covers, and an Edelbrock air bonnet. The interior is loaded: 1964 Ford steering wheel, Galaxy dash, 1964 Mercury gauges, vintage AC/Heat controls, and after market AM/FM radio with power antenna. The interior seats, panels, and truck are rolled and pleated white vinyl, done by my wife, a seamstress. All of the electrical on the car works perfectly via a new EZ wiring system. At the time of this posting, it has only 2000 miles on it.
