Description

Super rare and clean car a very special opportunity. The owner of Total Performance Motorsports has decided to pass on the opportunity of owning this fantastic and famous Mercury station wagon and last of the “woody” station wagons on to a new home. This was purchased primarily for the crew to compete in road rally competition, and win! This car was purchased from a little old lady (yes it’s true) that used the wagon to take her musical instruments to church. This wagon was extremely lightly used and well taken care of, and remains that way to this day. We service the hell out of the car every 2k miles.

We usually carry up to 1k lbs of gear when we go. Usually in the rearmost seat area by removing the cushions. They have since been reinstalled and are in perfect condition.New air cleanersAll new smog and clean air systems. This car just passed CA smog with flying colors. It is extremely clean. Nothing to hide here at all!Rolled fender lips so there is no rubbing when you drive this carThe suspension is lowered front and rear 6 inches. Again, the car does not rub or contact fenders when driving. It is very well thought out and executed. We are used to building lowered cars and we know how to make them work correctly.
WHEELS and TIRES

-Option 2;I deduct 1500.00 from the final agreed price and remove the current wheel and tire combination. At that point I will reinstall the original wheels that came with the wagon (pictured) and you can select your own wheels at your leisure.

This car is an amazing car that is extremely well known and driven extensively with zero mechanical issues and none known of now with the exception of it needed a new oil pan gasket that seeps over time. Yep, that’s it.
The body of the car is in fantastic shape. There are no rust or other issues. It has a few door dings and places where a very small paint chip is present due to use. The wood sides are a stick on that is original for that year of car. In fact this is one of the final “woody” cars made from the factory. Not just the final run of cars but actually one of the last ones ever produced, adding to its rarity. The trim is rare and all in very good shape, there may be one small door ding on the front pass side. The roof rack is there and in great shape. It even still has the wood inlay in the rack.
InteriorThe interior is in great condition. It is still vibrant blue and in wonderful shape. There are zero rips in the seats or door panels. The headliner is in perfect condition and is not sagging or tearing at all. The rear seats are fully functional and in great condition. The rear carpet is still there and in good condition. The carper as a whole is great. There is wear through in the drivers footwell, but a new carpet or floor Matt will do the trick. The dash has some heat blisters in it and patching from the previous owners on both far exterior sides. The rest of the dash is great. The latch for the pass side ash tray needs replacing. Other than those very few issues, the car is in great shape for its age and who’s very well. The glass is all in great shape and has no issues.

This is a really rare and well taken care of car that is extremely road worthy and has proven it with multiple cross country trips time and time again. Take the car to a road rally or a car show, a family trip or a cannonball run. No matter what your plans for this classic it can fill the bill!
