Description

Magoo’s 1949 Mercury.

This was Dick Megugorac’s personal car and last car built by the legendary builder.

Upholstery done by Lois Megugorac. Pearl gray Allante Material covering 1990 Lincoln Seats and center console.

Engine is a Ford Racing 302 w/Fuel Injection

B&M AOD transmission w/2400 Hughes Stall

Jet Hot coated exhaust

Vintage Air air conditioning unit

Fatman Fabrications dropped spindles w/modified front springs from Valley Spring with sway bar, shortened steering arms and 85 Ford pickup steering box fitted with Fatman adapter. Posies Super Slide rear springs w/Monroe air shocks. Ford 9” rear end. Wilwood front calipers and rotors. 215/75-R15 Tires.

2” Chop, radiused corners of doors, hood and trunk. Reshaped gutters in the rear, lowered tail lights and hand built new flat window molding from steel and chromed to factory finish. All stainless trim. Fender skirts from Dick Dean, with special modifications made for this Merc. Rear bumper guides reduced in size and center bar removed from front grill. Power windows.

In 2008 the car was sold and Hot Rods By Dean was given the task of updating the car to the new customers likes. A 1951 Merc dash was installed and the interior garnish molding were painted black along with the dash. The tail and headlights were also Frenched at this time.

Featured in magazines and was used in Ford Racing Advertisement Promotions.
