1965 Mercury Comet Caliente 2 Door Hardtop
Description
After looking for a Cyclone for a couple of years I found a fellow in California who had a rust free Caliente for sale, I quit looking and bought it. Not more than a couple of months later he called and had a Cyclone for sale. I bought it and did a complete restoration on it. I pushed the Caliente to the back of the shop for 3 years. I have started on it again and am selling it today. The previous owner rebuilt the transmission (have bill) and the 289 was rebuilt with a mild street cam. I did a cold compression test on it, all cylinders were between 145 and 152 pounds, I have put a new Holly Performance 4 barrel carb.,new plugs, points, andwires. It has no rust, fresh paint, and redone interior. It has minor defects and I would call it a local show, driver type car. It wouldn't take a lot to make it a show car. Has some pitting on door handles and bumpers, not enough for me to replace. Windshield has a stone chip, could be repaired, would do it but our only glass shop closed. (I bought a new one for my Cyclone $159) Has a set of Cyclone hub caps as seen in pictures. Runs strong, shifts good, power steering, power antenna works, AM radio does not. Has jack and spare.
