Offered for sale for the first time in over 50 years is this 1947 MG TC, owned by the same family and sympathetically restored once 24 years ago.The TC shows well having been stored indoors for many years following restoration, and it was returned to the road over the past few months in preparation for sale to a new owner who can use and take pleasure in it.Brakes, cooling, fuel and electrical systems have been checked- the fuel tank cleaned and the wheel cylinders serviced.
The car cold starts beautifully with its original 12-volt electrical system, and it runs, drives, brakes, and handles like you’d expect from a well-sorted TC- one of the cars that truly pioneered American postwar enthusiasm for sports cars. This MG is now driven on nice days and is ready for you to begin enjoying. The undercarriage is clean, solid, and rust free, with lovely matching black top, tonneau cover, and interior. The original lights and instrumentation work except the tachometer, which has a broken connection by the generator, and the speedometer which appears to need internal work.Matching numbers engine.
There is one small primer area on the leading edge of the left front fender which can be spotted in.The area is photographed and is straight and smooth- along with the tach and speedometer these are the only items to address.
Overall this is an honest, older restoration to a good standard that is nicely preserved and ready to use and show off with pride, or be taken to the next level with minimal work.
