Description

Up for sale is my 1980 MGB Roadster. This car is fully restored and in near perfect condition. To start with the engine, although has only 47K original miles, I had the engine completely rebuilt to ensure to me that it is perfect in everyway. After all, it is still 38 years old. The crank shaft was machined and new bearings installed; new valves and seals; new rods and lifters; the head was machined as well. The cylinders were honed and new pistons and rings also installed. I did have a new performance cam shaft also installed. Additionally a new Weber Carburetor. To finish off the engine it was fitted with a Trophy polished Stainless Header and complete polished stainless exhaust system and muffler. Also replaced was the clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing, brakes master cylinder, starter, alternator, battery and all fluids to original factory standards. The brakes were up graded to a larger slotted discs with RED calipers that make the car stop great!
Next is the interior, which was 100% completely replaced with certified UK historically approved foam cushions, seat covers, door panels, and carpets, as well as optional carpeted floor mats. The rear deck (behind the front seats) also has the optional carpeted mat. The dash is perfect as well as the center consol. This car has the optional wood steering wheel. (see photos)The convertible top was also replaced with a new UK historically approved top. This car also comes with the original convertible top boot, tonneau cover, jack and tools. Jack and tools are pictured in the photos, fully restored in the original finish and in the factory pouches. The trunk has been fitted with an "authorized" carpet kit. The wheels have also been 100% refinished (including the spare) to original paint and finish.
The car is totally rust free and the bottom has been painted to the original Egg-Shell Black. The radio is not original; I replaced it with a "vintage looking" push-button radio that is stereo, AM/FM with integrated Blue-Tooth (hands-free phone) and USB. New technology, vintage look. This car is the finest example I have ever seen and I most recently was entered in the Pittsburgh British Day Car Show in July 2017. The car's finish is done in a Green Fire-Metallic paint that was $500 a quart, and detailed with hand-painted two-tone tan and cream pin-stripes.
The car is registered with the MG Historical Society in the UK (Cert in the photos) and comes with all original sales literature, and owners manual and 4 sets of original MG keys. I have other photos if you want to see the original trunk floor and inside floor boards for both sides to prove there is no rust anywhere. There is nothing to do but drive it and enjoy it. It is a great deal of fun to drive, but down-sizing and paying for our daughters wedding is the reason for offering the MG for sale. Call if you have any question. 954-258-5460
