I am very excited to offer the most authentic looking MG replica that has ever been offered on eBay for under $7900. There are usually several MG "Tributes" for sale at any given time in this section, but rarely are there any examples that pay tribute to the iconic 1952 MG-TD as does thismeticulously appointed and maintained entry level collector automobile.
Included with the car is nearly 200 receipts for parts and service since 1985 for upgrades to ORIGINAL MG parts of which nearly all of the exterior has, from the grill, head lamp supports, door latching mechanisms, instrument cluster, tail lights, signal lights, spare tire mount hub caps, badges ect, and something you NEVER see on MG replicas is a properly opening "folding" bonnet, as almost all other replicas has hoods that open like a beer cooler. Also, note must be given to the MG rear mounted petrol tank (ACTUAL GAS TANK & NOT A HOOD CONCEALING A VW ENGINE) with original chrome support bands and accoutrements with original MG tire mount!
Nearly every aesthetic component is original factory MG parts. The receipts include everything from the origin of documentation in 1985 to its most recent oil change a few weeks ago, every cent that has EVER been spent on this MG is documented in a maintenance folder, over $20,000 in receipts in 32 years! The car in completely original as built, NEVER MOLESTED, even the fading paint is wreaking of patina. and that is the only thing that this car needs to be show room ready is a quality paint job and re-chroming on the headlamp supports. The 4 cylinder Chevette engine runs like a Swiss watch, if you have a radio playing you can't hear the engine. The manual 4 speed transmission shifts smoothly and the brakes are very responsive as is the acceleration. Included but not shown is the black cloth convertible top in mint, unused condition as well as the support ribs. The car is 100% complete and pampered its entire life having been respectfully driven only in affluent resort, retirement and golfing communities in Florida by two elderly and knowledgeable MG enthusiasts.
Everything works as it should including the original MG wipers and folding windshield to option in the Brooklands Twin Racing windscreen (not included) however, the fuel gauge needle bounces erratically upon acceleration. Also included (as shown in the listing are more than a dozen manuals for the car and all schematics, the car was owned by the original owner for more than 30 years and upon his passing the widow gave it to his best friend, from whom I acquired the car.
I cannot stress enough the meticulous care and maintenance that was doted upon this very unusually authentic replica MG, but the hundreds of receipts will verify that you will not befinding a more authentic and reliable representation of the MG-TD marque for anywhere near this price as I was very lucky to purchase this car at a reasonable price and I am selling at a fair price also.
