1957 MGA
Description
I am selling this car for a recently deceased family member. It is running and driving, and located in Arizona. The car was checked out by a local member of an MG car club. Here are the findings:
I had a chance to see the car today and thinkit worth a close look by anyone interested in an MGA driver or a restoration project.
The engine appears to be from an early MGB so I think that makes it a 3-main 1800. There are many assorted parts in the garage area and it is believed the original engine is also in there somewhere (time will tell).
They do have the side curtains, hood (top), sticks (bows) anda box full ofnew parts includingnew door cards. I also saw an extra manifold and carbs, possibly from the original engine.
The interior was presentable and looked fairly complete. We were able to find the ignition key.
The undercarriage looked pretty good (in a casual inspection) and the gas tank appeared to be a recent replacement. The tires ranged from old (2009) to ancient - but all seem to hold air.
Paint does not appear to be original and is a bit rough in places but not to the point that you wouldn't want to be seen in it. Past damage and an old repair at the right rear corner was evident, there may also have been some work in the dogleg area behind the doors. The bonnet and doors are aluminium and look pretty good.
On Jun-01-16 at 09:59:41 PDT, seller added the following information:Estate sale.
