1958 MG MGA Roadster Red

For Sale is a 1958 MGA Roadster in red. Clear title in hand. I have owned the car for about 4 years, with the previous owner purchasing it in the early seventies when he returned from Vietnam. I believe the car has spent its life in Texas. Many things have been done over those years: New brakes (including new, period correct master cylinder and hydraulics for front and back), professionally rebuilt original SU Carbs, front end (including rebuilt front shock levers, bushings, springs, wheel bearings, and a fresh coat of paint), New tires. Unbelievably enough, I have sorted out most of the electrics except for the horn (which I have new sitting in the box). The car drives well and starts easily, even after a month of sitting. The engine runs strong and has good compression. The only real modification that I have made was upgrading to an electronic distributor and adding an oil cooler to help with the summer heat. All of the usual issues with these cars have been sorted out. It is a Texas car and in good shape, but the body is beginning to get some surface bubbling and really needs some panel alignment and a re-spray. I have an extra clean trunk lid, bonnet, convertible top frame, side curtains, and many other parts that go with the car. I believe the car can be enjoyed as it sits, however I would love to see someone spend the time and do some light body work and perform a good paint job. This is a great little car and probably the best bang for your buck as far as 50's British cars go. Thanks for looking.
