1961 MGA convertible
Description
A late 90's body off restoration. In 2011, over $3,000 spent on: new battery, fuel tank, master cylinder, clutch slave cylinder, clutch & brake lines. Carbs taken apart/cleaned. New fuel & water pump in 2014. The paint has wonderful shine, but close inspection reveals some dings/scratches. The correct fender welting is in place and in the right color, w/ custom oak trim around cockpit. Underneath the car is clean and rust free & frame is straight. Mechanically the car is very good. It does not overheat and idles at around 40PSI and under load it is at about 60. The rebuilt engine is a 1500 whereas the car is a 1600. The brakes work well for an old British car. Passed RI Inspection in 2016. There are some modest quirks that I got used to over the past 5 years, which will be reflected in the pricing. All in all this is a beautiful, but not concourse, car that an enthusiast would enjoy driving. I am selling to get a different toy car. Located in North Kingstown, RI.
