1954 MGTF Red/Red Wire Wheels

Offering a 1954 MGTF for sale that has had a frame off restoration in 2000. The photographs show the car being taken down to the frame and built from there. There was a small rust area on one door that was professionally repaired. All the wood was intact and was reused. This beautiful TF was repainted using Ditzler/Dupont paint. The color is called “Rangoon Red”. It appears to be very close to Colorado red but not as much orange. The bonnet ( hood) has been professionally louvered across the top with two rows of louvers. This certainly helps with the cooling. Beside that minor modification, the car seems to be original. The 1250 cc engine was bored out .060 and the crank was cut to .010 on the mains and .020 on the rods. The clutch was replaced during mechanical restoration. This 1954 MGTF has a new wiring harness, all wheel cylinders were refurbished, brand new master cylinder was just installed (9-12-2018), new shoes, new suspension bushings and oil seals, new white wall tires, new leather seat kits with new foams, new carpet, top and sidecurtains and new side panels. All of this work was done in 2000, except for the brake master cylinder. The car starts up and runs great with very good oil pressure. In 2015, the car was, once again, taken into a local shop and $3578.47 in work was completed to put it back on the road after sitting a few years. ( Please see the invoice).There is a little dirt on the underside of that car, but nothing that can’t be cleaned with just a little elbow grease. The doors close correctly. The mileage shows 67K. The current owner claims he drove the car less than 5000 miles since the car was restored in 2000. I see no body damage and the red paint is still incredible. It does not have the Lucas driving lights but repros are available for under $300.00. This TF has a nice tan canvas top with matching sidecurtains. I see one tiny ding in the front bumper right next to the right hand overrider. All the chrome is very good. It has 5 new Denman 5.60 X 15 Elegarte Premium Sport tires. The RH front knock-off has some pitting, the rest of the K/O’s look very good. The car drives wonderfully and does have a rattle ( new shocks installed in 2015). The MGTF comes with a very nice black tonneau cover. The engine number matches the firewall plate. A $1000.00 non refundable deposit is required with 7 days of auction's close.
