Description

These are becoming rare these days. Not many advertised for sale any more. The beautiful coupe/hatchback design makes them very practical cars.

This car was partially restored about 10 years ago. All the rusted areas were cut out and replaced with factory (Heritage) steel panels. This included the floor pans, fenders, inner and outer rocker panels. Then it sat for many years until it was reassembled. The reassembly included the following new parts:

Front grill, side trim pieces, bumpers, wiring harness, seats, dash, brakes, steering wheel, door glass, powder coated wire wheels, tires, gas tank, wiper motor, door panels, carpet, seat belts, and many other pieces I'm probably forgetting.

The engine and transmission were rebuilt. The carburettors were rebuilt. The correct factory air filter housings are used. The engine starts and runs without any smoke and the transmission shifts perfectly with no grinding, nice tight shifting.

The car sat outside after it was painted and before it was reassembled. There is virtually no rust, but there are some small areas that have been repainted that are not an exact match to the repaint....not horrible, but not perfect (basically some serious scratches that were repaired). There are a number of small nicks that have been touched-up, likely a result of the reassembly not being done carefully enough. The 3 pictures with areas outlined show the areas where the paint was repaired and is not a perfect match; you can see that it is not very noticeable.

So the drivetrain is in very good shape. The interior is almost all new and looks very good. The chrome looks really good. It runs and drives very nicely. The paint could use some touching up and a good buffing to make the whole car perfect.

These cars are getting rare and are starting to go for big money. This is a perfect car for driving and enjoying (the coupe is nicely weather-tight), or it can use a little work to make it perfect (and worth much more money at that point!).

Oh, the mileage is approximate, but since everything has been rebuilt or replaced it is really like new. And it does not have overdrive.

I will of course help with shipping, but the costs are with the buyer. Any questions, please ask.

BONUS: If I get near my asking price, I'll throw in a box of parts I have. Some of these are for MGB, some for MGA and some for other British cars. There are intake and exhaust manifolds, speedo cables, hydraulic rebuild kits...all sorts of stuff.
