Solid, low mileage, 2 owner, Southern driver with multiple tops
Description
1979 MGB - 1.8L 4 cylinder engine; 4 speed manual transmission; RWD For sale on consignment, this classic MG is being sold for a long time service customer. He has owned the car since 1980 and maintained it well. The MG was driven on a regular basis but not as a primary vehicle and therefore has very low mileage for the age. It is a mostly original example that runs & drives well and is not rusty. Besides normal maintenance over the years, the car has been painted once, has had the stereo replaced once, has had the top replaced once and recently the transmission was rebuilt & the clutch replaced. Our service in preparation for sale included a thorough check over, test drive, new battery and detail. Please note that this vehicle predates the 17 character VIN and therefore will not have a Carfax report. Due to the age, it is exempt from inspection or odometer reporting here in NC It is also too old for a standard auto loan but should qualify for a classic car loan since it has low mileage that can be confirmed by the owner. We will gladly answer any questions about the condition. Having been in here in North Carolina and garaged, this is a very solid example. It comes with the convertible top, tonneau cover and fiberglass hard top. This is a great driver quality example. It is presentable, runs well, is fun to drive, and nice enough to enjoy but not so nice that you have to worry about keeping it perfect. Please contact us for more information or additional photos. Issues we are disclosing: Both tops leak water when it rains hard There is a small chip in the paint on the right front fender which has resulted in a rust spot - but not a big enough problem to consider this car rusty The radio does not always work The driver seat has a tear in the back rest We do not have the key for the trunk, it is not locked
