Description

This is my 4th mini since the mid 90's and I've been a british car enthusiast since my 2nd car a 67 mgb in 1977. I also have a morris minor woody wagon badly in need of new wood so tough times call for hard choices and the mini has to be rehomed. The motor was rebuilt in 2012 at The Mini shed and since then has less than 4500 miles . I used an outside host to be able to show many other pictures than ebay allows at the end of this description. Within the last 2 weeks it had a new clutch pressure plate, disc, throw out bearing, plunger, clutch arm, thrust sleeve, flywheel lock bolt tab, flywheel center, lock key, fuel pump, new cap, rotor, point, spark plugs, condensor, racing iginition coil, air filter and fresh castrol oil. All parts were bought at seven mini parts. It runs fantastic always starts easily and finds its idle wel, plenty of pep with the 998cc engine. The transmission shifts extremely smooth through all gears 100% of the tim, brakes work as should no pulling or uneven braking, the master cylinde, slave cylinde, radiator were also all new, engine compartment as you'll see is extremely clean and tidy no leaks of any kind anywhere I tried to show several pictures of different area and angles in the engine compartment. The window seals are supple not brittle so no air infiltration noises even at high speeds, doors shut tight no rattles of any kind, seats are comfy and move back and forth and the backs tilt there's actually plenty of leg room a lot of people are surprised. The dash face is clea, gauge bezels don't have any pitting, top of dash doesn't have any cracks, door cards are like new, headliner shows minor yellowing but otherwise fine condition. Yokohama a008 tires are near new, original mini lite wheels. The interior of the doors are a different shade of green than the outside but doesn't really stand out, the passenger side fender where it meets the door has some paint chips missing that I tried touching up but the color didn't match well so I left alone, there's a noticeable scratch in the paint on the drivers side a few inches under the rear window I believe it might be able to be buffed out I just never tried. The chrome is all nice without any pitting or fade I believe the grille is stainless and the bumpers might be as well I'm not sure. There is a small dent in the rear right near the union jack sticker. Basically it's an incredibly reliable mini that drives very very well with literally all the mechanicals in tip top condition with a body showing some blemishes and great patina. It looks very authentic and presentable just not new or high quality paint . This is my favorite stage to be in because the cosmetics can be enhanced as you go if you want to but the reliability is that of one twice the price. I'm also into vintage vw buses and much prefer when needed to preserve the paint at all possible when repairing even if flaws remain it's just me preference I guess you could say I'm all about the patina. In fact the wood on my woody was weak and faded for so many years but I always knew once it's replaced you can't get that perfect patina back. If you want a fun classic car that's cheap to insure (classic insurance $138- a year) and you can literally drive anywhere without worrying about breaking down, that's had all the expensive things already done and all without spending a fortune then take a good hard look and don't hesitate to ask me any questions. My name is Jane and you can email me anytime also if you need transport let me know I can quickly get you a quote because a collector friend of mine has many reliable references for reasonable prompt transport also depending on where you are a friend has a car trailer and can deliver it to you for a very fair price. If you have any questions about parts availability or resources again do not hesitate to ask me I've been into classic cars for may many years and hopefully can be of help if needed. Unfortunately I can't consider any trades right now no matter how tempting and believe me I'd rather not even know of any because unfortunately the money is needed for boring house repairs and new wood for the woody. Also please don't ask the reserve and by all means have your finances in order if you're the winner so you can follow though within a week or so and don't forget a deposit is due within 2 days after the auctions end. One last thing because the bottom line to buying on ebay is about establishing trust I will answer your questions honestly and forthrightly but I can say I doubt anyone will have any dissapointments it has no deferred maintenance and you can jump right in and drive to the beach a few hours away if you'd like it's about having fun with it and as you know it's not a trailer queen. Also for european buyers I will gladly help arrange and or suggest transporters I've bought several cars in europe and/or facilitate transport to the port which is 88 miles away from me I can have it delivered there by my good friend for $100- actually or I could even drive it there my self. also please don't forget to scroll down for all the extra pictures
