1988 Mitsubishi Pajero / Montero LOW MILEAGE Turbo Diesel 4D56T MK1 GEN 1
Description
This...is...a...beauty...
I have an incredibly rare vehicle here, this type being one you will probably not find in the United States again in your life. She deserves a home in a show room. Her value will only increase in the future.
1988 Mitsubishi Pajero / Montero, turbodiesel 4D56T motor. She is in flawless condition with only 89K original miles!! ( mileage prone to change, as I drive it around on weekends) Right hand drive. Has been kept under a carport for most of its life. Paint is flawless, no clear coat peeling. There are only a few tiny rust spots along the bottom, which are shown in the pictures attached. Great fuel mileage!

The interior is absolutely perfect except for a tear in the driver side seat on the side. Could be patched easily. Everything else in it is cleaner than my 2017 daily driver car......
Tires are at 75%+ tread
Has a brand new Curt Class III trailer hitch I just installed. Brand new roof rack cross bars which I plasti-dipped, as well as a brand new roof cargo basket, both are included.
Dual CB antennas mounted to the front bumper. Very nice chrome bull bar mounted up front with yellow fog lights wired to a switch in the dash, work great.
The vehicle was imported from Japan. All belts and oil were changed prior to coming to the U.S., and all are in great shape, including the timing belt. Oil was changed again by a local shop a few weeks ago, 15W40.the VIN isL044G4002969.
This is the rare two-battery model. Makes it start much easier in cold conditions, and you can power more accessories if you wanted to. Under the hood is absolutely spotless.
No oil leaks. Does not burn oil. Again, this vehicle only has 89K miles. It is not an old beater truck. It is in better condition than most vehicles in general.
Bone stock everything. NO modifications or rigging. It is as it came from the factory. A true classic vehicle.
Comes with a Haynes repair manual, for repair reference.
I am moving for the Army and unable to store this vehicle somewhere safe for a reasonable price. I am only selling it because of that, otherwise I would never even consider it.
Many people assume because it is not an American vehicle, parts are impossible to get. They aren't. The pajero is identical to the U.S. Montero, in every way except for the motor. Any parts you need are available or can be ordered through local parts stores. Motor parts can be found anywhere online. I researched that well before I bought it myself.
I had the muffler removed for the better sound quality of the motor and turbo. Still incredibly quiet when running, but now sounds much better. New muffler would be an easy job, if you must have one....but it runs better without.
As previously mentioned, tear in driver seat, and a few minor rust spots along the bottom side
Not actually an issue, but if you don't know much about these vehicles, don't expect a speed demon. She is slow. Comfortable highway cruise speed is at about 68MPH. Does not accelerate like a corvette. Lots of torque, but not built for speed by any means.
That's it. I have no other issues I'm aware of to mention. As mentioned, this thing belongs in a garage or a showroom. It is a true classic vehicle. The videos should help you see how great it really is, but does not do it justice. Seeing it in person will make you drool. It makes me drool just looking at it, and I see it every day.
Clean and clear title.
I'd be happy to answer phone calls about it, send any pictures requested via text or email, or show it to you in person if you feel like driving to Chattanooga,TN. You can contact me at 931-252-9009. If you don't want to pick it up yourself and hire a company to pick it up, I'll be as flexible as I can to work with them to get it to you fast.
