Up For sale is a 1991 Mitsubishi j-53 jeep
imported from japan.
With only 49,350 kilometers (30,664 Miles) on the clock, she is barely broken in. Hop in turn the key, and the 4dr6 direct injected turbo diesel fires right up, and idles smoothly. The 4dr6 is mated to a 4-speed Mitsubishi HD manual transmission which shifts smoothly allowing 55-65 mph highway speeds. Acceleration Is no problem for this little work horse! Its MHI TD04 Turbo is healthy, and spools up quickly!
If you decide to take this little beast off road the factory installed Dana 44, and 30 axles with front lockers will do the job just fine. Aftermarket 15 inch wheels wrapped in brand new Goodyear Wrangler Radials add to its unique look.
The top was replaced in 2012 with a “bestop” which has no rips/tears where the windows do show some oxidation, and show a few scuffs. Behind the lower portion of the door windows a really cool skull imprinted material hangs down to be seen from the outside. A couple of the mounting buttons on the rear gate are missing there snaps but affect noting.
The interior of the j-53 is good shape, with no rips or tears in the seats. The cluster works flawlessly, and all the gauges work as expected.
The paint/body on the jeep is clean but does show its age. She has some rock chips, touch ups, and has dull paint in a few spots. The truck has a couple of rust spots, one decent sized one by the rear gate, and a some underneath the hood base. neither rust spot has gone through the body, and besides these spots the car has no other rust. When the car landed into Texas she was gone through with fine tooth comb. An oil change was done, the tires were replaced, and the fuel filter was changed.
Whether you’re going to a jeep meet, coffee & cars, or just cruising down the road you, and everyone else around you will be grinning from ear to ear when checking this thing out. It confuses people on to why there’s a Diesel jeep cruising down the road with its driver sitting on the wrong side.
You will be asked tons of questions about why your jeep is diesel, why it has a Mitsubishi logo, and why its RHD. Either or, this is one bad ass jeep, and its definitely something you DON’T see on the road every day.
