Although the year in the listing is 1980, this is a 1994 Evo II. Ebay is having an issue recognizing the JDM VIN format.
I purchased this vehicle at Japanese auction in December 2018 and cleared customs in February 2019. Obtained GA title shortly afterward. This was a 1-owner car in Japan! Original manuals and service history are included. I can provide additional pictures and video.
This car is a pure driving experience. The combination of light weight and no electronic aids other than ABS really provide pure driving pleasure. Remember driving this car playing Gran Turismo? I do and no wonder they put it in the game alongside the other legends of motorsport. Driving this car is very special. Makes you come up with reasons to go for a drive.
Update! The car has been through full detailing including a thorough wash, cut and buff, claybar, and Gtechniq EXO ceramic coating. She was shiny before, but now she's glowing!

The Lancer Evolution was produced under FIA homologation rules. This means that Mitsubishi was required to produce and offer these cars to the public in order to campaign them in racing, in this case WRC Group A rally. This ended up being a huge hit because all 5000 of these were sold out within 3 months of introduction. The cars they produced had to comply with the rally class rules so the bodywork which included the intake vents, louvers, wings, etc. Those same features were used to their full potential in the rally race cars.
