Description

1992 Mitsubishi 3000GT - SL - Upgraded with TWO T3/T4 .63 V-Band Turbos, complete with Carbon Fiber Hood & Corbeu Racing Seats!

FULL DISCLOSURE:

I want to start off by saying that this car has basically been my life up until some unfortunate events that started a little over a year ago. I bought this car back in 2013 and gradually replaced or upgraded every single thing that I could find wrong with it. I would estimate that I had easily dumped over $10,000 into this car before I even had the turbos installed. As of today, I would estimate I've got nearly $20,000 invested in this car. I do not WANT to be selling this, as this has been my prized possession since I bought it. Up until the events I'm about to mention, this car was absolutely solid and a perfect, RELIABLE daily driver. It started up each time I turned the key and gave me no issues.

I try to be a very honest person, and It's important to me that I fully disclose all the details of this car that I'm aware of so you know what you'll be getting. On that note, I simply cannot offer any returns of any kind, due to a failure on the buyer's part to read and understand these details in their entirety. If you purchase this car and plan to get it back on the road, THERE WILL BE WORK REQUIRED and you WILL HAVE TO PUT MORE MONEY INTO IT.

As much as I would LOVE to get this back to running myself, at this point in my life, I simply do not have the time. I'm selling it because I need less to do in my life, not more. If you're looking for a project car, or need this for parts, this is a great deal for you!

Roughly over a year ago, I started having some difficulty shifting into 1st year. All other gears shifted fine. I continued driving the car for a couple weeks until finally I was unable to shift into 1st at all. So I took the car to a local shop to have the transmission fixed. I figured the car would likely be in the shop for a while, so what does any reasonable sports car enthusiast do in such a situation as this? I went up to the shop and told them I wanted them to convert it to a twin turbo, naturally!

The shop suggesting I buy a turbo kit off of eBay and they said they could install it. That's what I did. Well, loooong story short, the turbos they STARTED installing were large. They quickly found that they were in over their heads and unfortunately at this point, it was too late. But they kept telling me they could finish it, so I unfortunately kept dumping money into it. After literally a year of being worked on, I was told the car is 95% done but needed a few more thousand to get it finished. I simply was not willing to put any more money into it and after a year, I'm just done with this whole situation. So I had the car towed to a specialty shop (Performance Factory) and had them look over EVERYTHING, and based on what they told me, this is what it needs:

Oil returns are routed incorrectly, Oil pan is leaking due to improperly welded additions.

Boost tube is made from flex pipe which wont work

Down pipe is not correct

O2 sensor needs a bung welded in and screwed

Oil pressure line is rubbing axle

Oil cooler lines are routed under radiator support, Blowing through OEM

MAF

Exhaust manifold has open hole

Drives side ball joint is messed up and stripped front wheel moves all around

Needs new tires

Exhaust needs to be welded in several places.

The first photo was taken after I got the car back. The rest of the photos were taken before. I'm not sure why the lights were taken out, but I have them and will include them. I just wanted you to be able to see how good the car looked in one piece.

I currently know very little about what it's going to take to fix this beyond what I've been told, so if you are thinking about purchasing this car, I am assuming you know what you're getting into. The transmission didn't have to be rebuilt, but whatever was causing the problem was replaced. All I know is that it shifts into 1st now.

I believe if you're willing to put time and money into this project, you'll come out with a great car for a fraction of the price in the end. I'm just ready to wash my hands of it. If you have any questions, please ask. I am NOT HIDING ANYTHING.

I have documentation for everything that's been done to this car since I bought it in '13.

I would love to see this car finished and back on the road, even if I am not the one to do it.
