Description

1962 Nash Metropolitan for sale in our Indianapolis Showroom. This '62 Metropolitan is powered by a GM 4.3L V6 engine backed by a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission running to a Ford 9" rear end. Options on this 1962 Nash Metropolitan for sale include: AM/FM/CD, Vinyl Interior, Tilt Wheel, and Radial Performance Tires wrapping a set of Aluminum Alloy Wheels. The Nash Metropolitan was an ideal that came about in the late 40's, but would go through research and market testing for 3 years before it would see production. Sales for the little Metro would do well with a total of over 95000 being sold in its 8 year run. 1962 models like you see here are very rare with only a total of 420 being produced. This bronze beast is a far cry from the "cute" little economy car that Nash had come up with. The body lines on this 62 look great with the fit and finish being spot on and probably better than when it left the factory. The paint looks great with a smooth finish and an unbelievable shine it is sure to get attention no matter where you go. So far nothing too radical but you haven't popped the hood yet which is where things begin to get interesting. Gone is the gas sipping 4 cylinder and in its place lies one of the most potent and reliable V6's GM ever made. The 4.3 is a little powerhouse and is a perfect fit under the hood of this Nash. The Carter carb sitting on top feeds it just the right amount of gas giving you tire ripping fun just a pedal stab away. Of course with the new motor the stock rear-end was no longer sufficient so the decision was made to go with the classic Ford 9" which was an excellent choice. With a set of skinnies on the front and a larger pair of cheater slicks on the back the transformation on the exterior is complete. There's no way anyone will mistake this for a grocery getter anytime soon. The inside has been done to back to the classic black vinyl bench seat with the shift selector on the column. The only difference you will see is going to be the custom steering wheel which fits the overall theme and build nicely. If you are looking for something unique and cool that no one else has your search has come to an end. The seller states that this classic has less than 500 miles on it since the build.
