This naturally-aspirated 300ZX is finished in its factory original (Code 329) Dark Red Metallic, wrapped around its near flawless all-original Dark Red interior. This car is an absolute ‘time-capsule’ folks, and has never been modified or molested in any way. It has been garage-kept and babied its entire life, and it shows!
Datsun made its reputation w/ its 'Z' cars, launched in 1970 w/ the 2.4-liter 240Z sports coupe, and the company followed the 240Z w/ a string of successes, including the 260Z & 280Z. The product line became decidedly more middle-aged at the end of 1978 with the arrival of the GT, and comfort-oriented 280ZX, so Nissan brought the ‘Z’ car back to a more sporting model w/ the U.S. introduction of the 300ZX in 1984. Known internally as the Z31, the initial Nissan 300ZX would run until 1989.
This gorgeous 1986 Nissan 300ZX is the finest original example that I have ever seen in my life, period! With exception of the battery, belts, spark plugs/spark plug wires & tires, it appears that the car is 100% original from front to back. Upon inspection, there is absolutely no evidence that it has ever been damaged or repaired in any way. The body is laser straight all of the way around the car, and the original Dark Red Metallic paint is absolutely exceptional in every way w/ a brilliant lustrous shine. The stainless trim around the windshield & windows is in excellent condition, and all of the original tinted glass is near-flawless as well. The original 15" 12-Slot alloy wheels are in mint condition and are wrapped w/ new Kumho Ecsta EST radial tires. Everyone who sees this car in person is completely blown-away by its outstanding original condition.
Open the driver’s door and you will find the all-original Dark Red interior that is as close to ‘brand-new’ as you will ever find. All of the electrical components are in perfect working condition, including the factory air-conditioning (blows ice-cold), power windows, power seats, power door locks, electric antenna, window defogger, cruise-control, hatch-release, etc. All of the lights, interior lights, blinkers, etc. are also in perfect working order, and the original stereo sounds excellent. The synthesized voice never misses a beat, and even the original digital clock keeps perfect time! Please look closely at the interior photos to see how amazing this car has been maintained over the last 33 years.
Pop open the hood and you will find the original naturally aspirated 2960cc 160hp SOHC 3.0 L EFI V6 motor linked to the original 5-speed manual transmission. The motor & transmission appear to be unmodified & 100% factory stock, and servicing is up to date w/ the fuel injector recall completed. She fires up instantly, and she runs, drives, and performs beautifully in every way. If you have never driven a Nissan 300ZX, you are in for a treat, as these cars are a BLAST to drive! Included is the original owner’s manual, T-top shades & covers, original spare tire & inflation kit, tool kit, & original keys. Of course, the CARFAX is spotless.
