For over 40 years, Nissan “Z Cars” have been collected by enthusiasts all over the world.
Similar to theoriginal 240Z and 280ZX, the completely redesigned 3rd generation 300ZX became one of the most exciting high-performance sports cars of its time.
Not only was the 300ZX a sensible alternative to European exotics, it also became an aspirational car for a new breed of import enthusiasts who found the 3.0 liter V6 extremely easy to tweak for massive increases in horsepower.
In the past 5 years, we’ve seenvalues on1st and 2nd generation Z’sclimb through the stratosphere-well into the 5-digit price range.
Following this trend, experts agree that over the next 5-10 years, original, pristine3rd generation300ZX'sare expected totriple in price.
Sadly, original 3rd generation ZX’s have largely disappeared.
Because they are great highway commuters, most were driven into the ground while others were eaten alive by the merciless rust cancer.

In September 1987, VIN *JN1HZ14S9JX273802* left the factory gates in Oppama Kanagawa, Japan.
On May 8th, 1988 it sold new at Quality Nissan in Huntington Beach, CA to a mature woman who always lived in the affluent suburbs of Anaheim Hills in Orange County.
Here is the original California title “Pink Slip” issued on June 26th 1988.
This 300ZX has certainly led a charmed life.

Let’s take a closer look now, top to bottom, inside and out.
Exterior:
This wonderful Z car is as nice and as original as it gets.
Aside from the rear bumper, the car is still wearing 100% of its factory applied paint.

The tapered front end, low hoodline and retractable headlamps blend into integrated bumpers.

From the 6 foot+ driver to pint-size pilots; every body type will enjoy extended trips in this bucket seat with lumbar adjustment.
Sun visors, headliner and glass T-Tops are superbly preserved as well.
Both T-Tops are lockable and are easily removed by pulling the release handle.

The fuel injected, 3.0-liter V6 engine mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission brings this ZX to perfection.
The engine starts quickly, idles very smoothly without any smoke or unusual noises.
It's a bullet-proof drive train, built with long distance touring in mind, certainly provides more than sufficient agility to prevail on any U.S. highway.
