1964 OLDSMOBILE DYNAMIC 88 2DR 394 V8 AUTOMATIC SLIM JIM TRANSMISSION BLUE/WHITE
Description
1964 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88 parked since 1997 when Slim-Jim 3 speed auto transmission suddenly lost drive after coasting thru a corner off power with DOT race tires...when back on a straight transmission would not drive in any gear. Possible just a pickup or bearing went out of place or I suppose the pump could have gone out but it was fine before hooking the turn??? Car has 2 15x7 Enkei 3 piece wheels on the rear with very old Mickey Thompson Competior tires 255/60-15 but will fit 295/50-15 but honestly the 255 handle better as they fit the rim a bit better but the 295 look wicked. There is a matching set of 15x7 Enkei wheels that were removed cause the tires no longer held air and the rims have since been used on another project but if interested in a matched set can be made available for purchase. Rims are in great shape for their age as they are anodized which protects the aluminum finish from tarnishing or corroding. Car sits a bit low as its set up top use Air Lift bags to set rear ride height. Also has an Addco rear sway bar. Car has a custom 4 H4 Cibie and Marchal headlamp in all 4 locations all powered thru 5 Bosch relays. You can run all 4 low beams with a flick of a switch and when you hit the high beams the relays allow the low and high beam H4 bulbs to both remain lit. Currently 55/60watt bulbs are fitted but the system will allow and has been run in the past with 100/160 watt H4 bulbs or 1040 watts of power! This overpowers the current alternator which has a modded winding providing 80 amps of power and the 4 headlamp system provides plenty of light with 220 watts on low beam and 460 watts on high beam. Car has brackets for Radio Shack Minimus 7 speakers under dash but speakers have been removed. This car formerly had ADS 200c speakers that provided great imaging in the same under dash location with plenty of legroom. Engine was rebuilt about 50000 miles ago with custom JE forged pistons. Reason for the rebuild was a bent rod from running the car with a bad Edelbrock water injection unit overpumping water at idle. Car drove home with knocking sound as a result of s shaped rod! I took a quick look and the car does not seem to be rotted out so mostly just surface rust as car has been under cover much of its life or garaged. All original paint as seen. Car is being sold locally and to friends so I reserve the right to cancel auction at any time. Car must be picked up in San Jose California 24 hours after auction end unless other arrangements are made before auction end. Pink slip is curruntly missing so car will be sold with Bill of Sale unless located. This car would be a great parts donor or to restore and drive. One owner car so no worries.
