Description

I have a pretty cool car here.. Great story.. My good friend owned this car for over 35 years and only drove it less then 5000 miles in that time. His father owned a repair shop a block away from my house in the early 80's and this car came in with a broken timing chain, the original owner ended up selling it to my buddyback then. My friend ended up having the original motor rebuilt a few months after he got it, at that time he also had the car repainted to the same color as original. The paint code on the data plate has a - through it meaning it was a special order paint color. The years went by and he got married and his wife would not let him take his kids in the car, because it was a convertible for safety reasons.
In the time I have owned it I spent around $8000 on fixing things on it.. Long list of items, I will list those now. The interior was taken out, I had the seatsredone, new carpets, new door sill plates, the original door panels were perfect, I put in the rally dash gauges from Parts place, not cheap, new gas tank, sending unit, straps, new fuel pump, carb rebuilt, new exhaust, correct exhaust sold here on ebay for $1000, 5 new tires, new beauty rings, new trunk mats, new brakes all around, new drums for rear, new emergency brake cables, new dash chrome bead, new wheel cylinders, new seat chrome around the seats, new headrest chrome, new dash bead chrome, new kick panels, driver side not on yet, new NOS outside remote mirror, not on yet was waiting for painter, new door handles, not on yet waiting for painter, bumpers are original and very nice, new tail light lens and so on,new grill bezels, new steering wheel and so on.
The car just needs paint or drive it like it is. You will not find a more solid car then this car. not bondo in it at all, unless the factory used it? The top is the original has 2 small tears, 1 on each side and I was going to leave the top on it. It does have the original boot..
Factory bucket seat car with no center console, am-fm, cruise ( inop have the parts ), rally 1 wheels, of course U code 455 and - special paint car. . Figured I would leave the paint for someone else to paint any color they want or keep the factory burgundy paint? I have a nice collection of cars and this one was going to be my keeper, but I am buying another car I have always wanted so this and a few others must go... Buy it now can be added.

Original 455 U Code Cutlass convertibles are really rare. I have seen very few of these and watched a few bring well above Nada numbers because how rare they are. Here is a sample of nada values.. A few sold at Mecum and other auction well above the highest prices of nada.. You cannot find these cars.. not you typical 350 cutlass, rarer then a 442. I have been asked about a buy it now, I am open to all offers. Thank you
