Description

1969 Oldsmobile 442 W30
I am selling my 1969 442 after having my son. With the lack of free time to drive and enjoy the car like it should be along with take it to shows, it's time to pass it along to someone else that can. Many of the W30's you see on ebay and other venues for sale have no documentation or proof of any kind that they were actually from the factory as true W30's. I have the build sheet from the factory proving that this 442 is an original W30. First off let me say that I have had several classic cars but none as reliable as this one. It can sit for weeks without being started and start right up. It is a pleasure to drive, and all options work flawlessly (convertible top, AC, power steering, etc.). When I purchased the car I had it fully restored. It was not a frame off restoration, but engine and transmission were removed along with everything in the engine bay along with interior. I kept everything as close to the way the car came off the factory line as possible since I'm and originality fan. The body was brought down to bare metal and finished in its factory original color Black. That was a few years ago, and there are a some minor areas that have paint issues. The interior was completely redone from floor pan up. The floor pan was brought down to bare metal and coated with a heat and sound deadening coating for comfort. All new wiring was also run to eliminate years of splicing from prior owners. Seats were redone, and carpet replaced, all with original looking materials. The engine is not the original engine that came with the car. It is a 1970 442 engine that I was told by the prior owner was a warranty replacement, which may or may not be true. But by the casting numbers it is a 1970 442 engine for sure. When I had the engine removed, I had it rebuilt using hardened valve seals? ect. to make modern gas work fine; however, I still only use Non Ethanol gas. The rear main seal was replaced along with all gaskets and wearable items. All of the brackets, exhaust manifolds, and removable items were sand blasted and powder coated for look and durability. Both the tail gasket and pan gasket of the transmission were replaced along with fluid and filter. The transmission didn't need a full rebuild so just those items were worked on. The transmission has developed a leak coming from the speedometer cable input. I'm assuming it needs a new o ring. The convertible top was replaced along with the hydraulic pump and both rams. I had Vintage Air installed because being a triple black car and living in south FL, it is impossible to drive without AC. The AC works well and blows very cold. I also had the original radio rebuilt to keep the look of the original but with better output along with Bluetooth so you can stream music from your phone. Some other items that come with the car are the original jack, build sheet, and manual packet. Also included is the convertible boot, all pictures of the restoration, and a huge file of all receipts and invoices from all the work that was done. The car is kept in my air conditioned garage to keep moisture and heat low. I have included pictures of the restoration along with pictures of some of the original W30 parts that I replaced with new versions to show the originals were on the car before I put the new ones on. Please call, text, or email me with any questions. (Brian 561-251-7224) I will assist the buyer in any way as far as delivery or storing the car until they can pick it up along with keeping it under my insurance policy with Hagerty until they get the car home and covered with their own policy. Thank you for looking.
