1984 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser Easy Restoration
Description
Transmission was rebuilt at 116000 miles however it needs work again. On short trips around town it shifts as it should but on longer runs the trans does not downshift as it should. example- when turning corners it does not shift to second but stays in third gear. When coming to a complete stop it stutters into first. Also the AC needs new clutch. (AC compressor with clutch goes for $150 on Ebay). Body has no dents or serious rust but does have surface rust and small rust spots here and there. Needs paint. Has small oil leak which costs locally $260 to fix. Heater dash control does not work but heater and AC (when fixed) do with simple vacuum hose swapping seasonally . Motor runs great. Oil has been changed every 3 thousand miles. I have maintained it very well. Great car to restore. Call or email with questions. 219 455-1787 Jim. Car is being sold as is where is with no warranty. I reserve right to cancel sale if sold locally. PS. The Ebay vehicle report shows the engine as a V6. This is incorrect. It is the 5.0L V8. The Olds Custom Cruiser did not offer a V6 engine in 1984. PSS. The odometer has not been rolled back. It had about 100000 when I bought it in September of 2010. Milage reporting was not required for this year car so for some ownership changes mileage was not reported.
