Description

I purchased the hearse in 2004 from a collector in St. Paul Minnesota who purchased the car from the funeral home in 1999. The car was in service in Rapid City, South Dakota until 1995. I paid $2,550 and drove it home from St. Paul. I have the paperwork from the sale with the price listed. The transmission was rebuilt by Stone Park Transmission with a new torque converter installed 7-7-06 for $450 (receipt). I purchased and installed a complete front suspension kit from Kanter Auto on 7-11-06 for $378 (receipt).

The front and rear bumpers were stripped and re-chromed by Desert Dog Auto on 9-6-06 $1,086.27 (receipt) and I purchased a radiator support $213 (receipt).

The wheel wells, core support, radiator support, cross member, fan shroud, 2 front springs, hinges, trans cover and 13 brackets were powder coated by Lo-Ko performance coatings $520 also upper and lower control arms, sway bar, 2 rear springs, and 2 brackets $190 (receipt).

The drive shaft is 2 piece and was rebuilt/balanced by Surge Clutch & Driveline on 9-18-06 $378.58 (receipt).

The front fenders, hood and all assemblies were removed, then the fenders and hood were blast stripped. Floor boards were blast stripped repaired drivers side and POR15 coated to prevent rust. The entire car was then stripped, cleaned and repainted by Lance Nelson Auto Body $5,780 (receipt). The paint is ChromaBase Dupont Black Rose - Effect which is purple/black fade.

I have the original owners manual and protecto plate with VIN number listed. I purchased the hearse as a project for my now ex-wife and put the hearse in a climate controlled storage facility at time of divorce. I don't have the interest to complete the project so I have decided to sell. The Engine is a 455 from a 1976 Olds 98 and ran well when I started the project. I have re-installed the drivetrain and the front end needs reassembly. I removed the casket rollers and assemblies, installed wood flooring and wood panels over the rear wheel wells. I have the original from bench seat and all trim/accessories that were removed. This is a solid project that will be a very nice hearse with some time and care but not much money as I have spent $11,545.85 not including my labor or storage costs. I am motivated to sell and am listing at $2,500 with no reserve. You can call me at 312-350-5581 with any questions. I will require a $300 deposit within 48hrs to hold if you cannot pick up within 48hrs.
