Description

1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass Convertible painted in beautiful Matador RedIf you have been looking for that classic muscle car investment then thisrareClassic Muscle CarConvertible just may have your name on it! These 1970's muscle cars have incredible investment potential, and have been referred to as rolling bank accounts. Remember, when the top goes down the price goes up! This Olds does have the original numbers matching Rocket engine.I double checked the numbersand they do match the vehicle identification number. It was garage kept during the prior ownership, and it has always been inside during my time with this red beauty.
With each passing year, it is becoming increasingly more difficult to find aMatador Red with black interior and black topconvertible. Everyone who knows these cars know this color and interior combination is one of the most popular and most desirable.
This nice driver quality Olds starts right up and floats down the road beautifully. I just installed a brand new quadra-jet 4 barrel carburetor a few weeks ago. The winning bidder will most likely have endless thumbs up wherever they drive. You should have an outgoing personality to drive a car like this, because everywhere you go people will be attracted to you like a magnet.
The factory air conditioning is all hooked up the way it came from Oldsmobile, but it will need an R-12 Freon charge to blow ice cold. I had it looked at, and the system is currently low on refrigerant, but holding a charge. It will either need to be converted to 134, or find someone who can/will recharge an old R-12 system.
The body is in good condition with an older paint job. Not sure when it was painted, maybe 25 years ago if I was guessing. Looks nice. I would say it's a 10 footer. It has some blemishes, scratches, stone chips, and paint touch-ups as you'd expect for an older paint job. The average joe who stops to admire the car willnot likelynotice any of these. I also do not believe the quarter panels are original to the car.
The convertible top is in good serviceablecondition with one tiny hole as shown in one of the photos. It also features a glass back window. The top goes up and down very nicely through the switch on the dash, and also includes an original parade boot in very nice condition.
The seat coversare all in good condition, and look factory original to me. I'm sure at one point back in the day someone must have replaced them. The split bench isa nice feature and feels like you're sitting on a couch in your living room.
The front and the rear floor pans look to be the originals having never been replaced, and all four floor pans are in good condition as well as the undercarriage and frame. The carpeting isalso in very nice condition. The interior also features a non-factory tachometer, that works well and fits nicely in the factory hole in the dash. Below the dash is a 3 pod instrument cluster which houses oil pressure, amps, and coolant temp. All 3 gauges seem to be working like they should.
This Olds rides ona set of four Widetrack Radial S/R raised white lettered tires withdecent tread mounted on 15 inch Super Stock II wheels. All four wheels have new chrome lug nuts, andall fourNEW beauty trim rings. The convertible also features full length dual exhaust with glasspak mufflers. It sounds great, throaty but not too loud.
There is a 10-bolt rear end present. The trunk floor is in nice original-looking condition and was coated with A/C Delco black and aquaspatter spray for the trunkto stay in nice condition for many years to come. The trunkcarries a full size Super StockII spare withthe originaljack, jack stand, bumper mount, and crow bar. This way if there is ever a mishap on the road with a quick tire change you can be back on the road in minutes looking complete.
The rocket 350 does have a few trick features including a nice chrome Edelbrock air cleaner and valve covers, edelbrock aluminum intake manifold, electronic choke conversion, 8mm spark plug wires, and an HEI distributor with chrome cover.

The majority of the chrome would be rated as nicedrivers quality condition. The original dash pad is in nice shape with nocracks. The original radio is long gone and has been replaced with what one can only guess is an 80s AM/FM cassette deck. It does receive radio reception and the speaker in the dash works as well.
This sale is being made with a clean and clear title. These older classics that have survived for over 40 years are becoming harder and harder to find in this condition.
This Oldsmobile is an investment that I believe will continue to rise as these cars haveshown toconsistently escalate in value. Here is a prime opportunity to acquire your dream car at a nominal price. I tried to list everything I could think of about this car when writing the description. If you feel I may have left anything out please ask as many questions as you like.
This Red Beauty is being offered for the very first time on a7 day"No Reserve" auction and will sell to the highest bidder on Sunday evening at 8:30pm Eastern time, 7:30pm Central time, and 5:30pm Pacific time. There are plenty of local car shows to attend this upcomingseason so don't miss out!! Good Luck and Happy Bidding!!!
